About Glenn Kerr
MA (Hons), PGCE
I've been researching family history for more than 20 years and have a particular interest in Scottish and Irish ancestry, DNA analysis, and the social history of Scotland. I enjoy helping people discover not only who their ancestors were, but also the places, communities and stories that shaped their lives.
Over the years I've helped people in Scotland, England, Ireland, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand trace their family roots. Every enquiry is different, and I enjoy helping clients uncover new discoveries, solve research problems and make sense of their DNA results.
Background & Qualifications
I'm currently completing the PGCert in Genealogical, Palaeographic & Heraldic Studies at the University of Strathclyde, one of the UK's leading postgraduate genealogy programmes.

I hold an MA (Honours) in French and Russian from the University of Glasgow and a PGCE teaching qualification.
Alongside my career as a professional legal translator, I've spent many years researching family history, local history and genetic genealogy. Together, these experiences have strengthened the research, analytical and investigative skills that I now bring to every genealogy project.
Local History & Community
Born in Irvine, a historic town on Scotland's west coast in Ayrshire, I've spent many years researching the history of the town and the wider history of the area through archives, newspapers, photographs and historical records. Local and social history are among my main research interests, and I enjoy uncovering the stories that connect people to the communities where they lived and worked.​
